we are in the present
the future rushes towards us or we rush /move/ walk/ crawl /breathe towards the future
the past flows out away from us. we tend to visualize this as a passage away from our back.
and the future as something that is coming towards the front of us
the past and the future are all around us, the entire circumference of the body is taking part in the dispensation? the exchange from present to future to past to present to past to future to past to …. we are a wave form exchanging this moment for the next.
also considering ourselves in relation to the world, we are not separate from it, from nature, the whole of it, we are part of it, though we sincerely believe ourselves to be separate from it and it separate from us. we are united, always and forever. for some this is a troubling thought. for others, like me, i am grateful to know that my family is more than the societal unit of people to whom i am biologically and ceremonially related.
consider yourself a wave measurer:
“Our senses are informed about the energy of the world by vibrations: the eye sees waves of light, the ear hears vibrations, and we feel head and cold, wind and texture, all as vibrations. Similarly the consciousness that joins self and world is analog.” New Self, New World, p. 219
